Sufficient unto the year is the evil thereof.

Sufficient unto the year is the evil thereof.
Kings and Princes have abandoned their thrones and riches for a better life for a better world.
Now if I had the power and riches I am not so sure I would be so noble.
Even though a few of these kings I am sure have been conned out of their riches by greedy hypocritical monks and priests but that is another story.  Rasputin comes to mind here.
Quests for
The Holy Grail,
The Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch
The Meaning of Life,
the Whys and Hows and the other 3 W's are all fruitless and bare.
There is a deep feeling in me that material is evil and leads to no good
even though it might have in some rare instances.
The lack of material however also certainly leads to unnecessary evils.
In this day and age where everything is brought DOWN to a price and a cost
I cringe and despair.
Surely life is more than bread and water, surely some things are still more precious than gold, priceless and all, eternal, ineffable, untouchable almost unreachable?
Certainly the "kingdom of god", nirvana, perfection, bliss or whatever you call your utopia your ideal is,
certainly
" the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy"
and all other virtues one can think of. Not only Bohemian virtues as some would see them because I have a feeling that the Bohemian Beauty is the one that fritters away like the petals of a rose but eternal internal beauty and love and peace and joy and WISDOM to be cherished more than gold, more than refined gold and rubies.
There IS Wisdom and there IS Righteousness and there ARE Virtues and There is Truth and there is Beauty and all that is good still exist somewhere if nowhere else nowadays than in old myths and stories.  The reason why these things seem of such a distant past is probably because there are very few and precious and get drowned and silenced and in numbers.  The pearls are getting dredged from the bottom of the earth and buried under a humongous pile of rubbish we call the world now mostly seen through greedy media where none of these old values exist they all have been bought and sold and bought again like Leonard Cohen's Holy Dove:  Sold to the highest bidding whore.
*Insert Big Sigh Here*
Why do I bother? Just to make myself belief  that I am better than others? that I am special? I would like to think it is not the cause of my longings but one never really knows oneself or another or anything in fact that is what epistemology is all about: the muddled soul cannot discover itself in the mud.
My water is unclean just like any water on this planet or waters as the Hebrew says.  My fountain is poisoned.
All fountains are getting more and more poisoned.  I would not know pure water if it hit me in the face.
O well it is my birthday in 2 hours and it seems a tradition to get a little more introspective at this time of the year.  Another year over and what have you done John Lennon?
Or maybe it is just a Capricorn thingy to be melancholic and taciturn? :)  Ok I USED to be taciturn but I think even my mother would deny that too.  I should be taciturn anyway. :)
As always no answer to anything and more questions but then again without questions one will never find the answer...hunger and thirst for righteousness one once said and seek ye first... tralalalala
Wherewithal shall an old man cleanse his way? By taking heed to which words?
Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.
Sometimes I think each one of us take our blindness to the grave.
Because thou knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:

Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.
Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.
Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.
Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.
Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.
Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.
Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.
Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.

Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?
.
But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.

Doth not wisdom cry? and understanding put forth her voice?
She standeth in the top of high places, by the way in the places of the paths.
She crieth at the gates, at the entry of the city, at the coming in at the doors.
Unto you, O men, I call; and my voice is to the sons of man.
O ye simple, understand wisdom: and, ye fools, be ye of an understanding heart.
Hear; for I will speak of excellent things; and the opening of my lips shall be right things.
For my mouth shall speak truth; and wickedness is an abomination to my lips.
All the words of my mouth are in righteousness; there is nothing froward or perverse in them.
They are all plain to him that understandeth, and right to them that find knowledge.
Receive my instruction, and not silver; and knowledge rather than choice gold.
For wisdom is better than rubies; and all the things that may be desired are not to be compared to it.
I wisdom dwell with prudence, and find out knowledge of witty inventions.
The fear of the LORD is to hate evil: pride, and arrogancy, and the evil way, and the froward mouth, do I hate.
Counsel is mine, and sound wisdom: I am understanding; I have strength.
By me kings reign, and princes decree justice.
By me princes rule, and nobles, even all the judges of the earth.
I love them that love me; and those that seek me early shall find me.
Riches and honour are with me; yea, durable riches and righteousness.
My fruit is better than gold, yea, than fine gold; and my revenue than choice silver.
I lead in the way of righteousness, in the midst of the paths of judgment:
That I may cause those that love me to inherit substance; and I will fill their treasures.
The LORD possessed me in the beginning of his way, before his works of old.
I was set up from everlasting, from the beginning, or ever the earth was.
When there were no depths, I was brought forth; when there were no fountains abounding with water.
Before the mountains were settled, before the hills was I brought forth:
While as yet he had not made the earth, nor the fields, nor the highest part of the dust of the world.
When he prepared the heavens, I was there: when he set a compass upon the face of the depth:
When he established the clouds above: when he strengthened the fountains of the deep:
When he gave to the sea his decree, that the waters should not pass his commandment: when he appointed the foundations of the earth:
Then I was by him, as one brought up with him: and I was daily his delight, rejoicing always before him;
Rejoicing in the habitable part of his earth; and my delights were with the sons of men.
Now therefore hearken unto me, O ye children: for blessed are they that keep my ways.
Hear instruction, and be wise, and refuse it not.
Blessed is the man that heareth me, watching daily at my gates, waiting at the posts of my doors.
For whoso findeth me findeth life, and shall obtain favour of the LORD.
But he that sinneth against me wrongeth his own soul: all they that hate me love death.
