Transcendent Consilience!
Though I speak with the tongues of men and of
angels, and have not charity, I am become as
sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.
And though I have the
gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge;
and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not
charity, I am nothing.
How many times have I wished for having all
knowledge, knowing all mysteries.
Don’t care so much about faith and love but
knowledge
for the sake of knowledge,
not for the sake of power,
has always
fascinated me.
Knowledge beyond Charlie Gordon’s or Laplace
demon’s even. Beyond Hawking and Einstein
and beyond a googleplex of them.
Knowledge of all sciences, all biology, all
physics, all languages.
Transcendent Consilience!
Moreover accurate and perfect knowledge with no
fallacies and errors, hell bigger than god’s: Omniscience in all its majesty.
One would say ok what will you do with it?
Nothing! Just baste and bathe in it! Know with a capital K.
Obviously, as well explained by Rod Serling or
Charles Beaumont rather,
this kind of knowledge should never ever be
passed down to other humans.
Would it help me? Would it serve me well?
More than likely it would destroy me completely
but the Icarian ascension would be the rush of all times though.
Epistemologically we are still retards in so many
ways.
The best minds are only bought by beasts.
We are suffocated by financial need and political greed.
We all travel in the dark, more than likely
statistically as blind and stupid as our ancestors
who also thought they were
la crème de la crème: the ultimate in all scientific knowledge.
We were and are so far advanced in lobotomy
and the many ways of putting an animal or a human to death, smart weapons and
all.
Still one can only dream. Every time I read anything in this age of Wikipedia
I sigh wishing I was younger, smarter, different, more disciplined, more this
and more that and less me.
I have always been extremely curious but I was
raised in the wrong environment with a stack of emotional and mental baggage
that made sure I would never be good for anything.
I think Flowers for Algernon did to me what LSD
did to Syd Barrett: fucked me up forever! J
“If the operashun werks
good Ill show that mouse I can be as smart as.”
(on a side note, it hasn't helped the biggest minds of this planet at all mind you, maybe because exactly that their knowledge was far from being perfect)
Can one have Knowledge that passeth all understanding AND
Peace that passeth all understanding at the same time?
Or is one asking too much?
I saw a beggar leaning on his wooden crutch,
he said to me, "You must not ask for so much."
And a pretty woman leaning in her darkened door,
she cried to me, "Hey, why not ask for more?"
he said to me, "You must not ask for so much."
And a pretty woman leaning in her darkened door,
she cried to me, "Hey, why not ask for more?"
~Leonard Cohen
Edward O. Wilson, referring to ants, once said that "Karl Marx was right, socialism works, it
is just that he had the wrong species",[28] meaning
that while ants and other eusocial species
appear to live in communist-like societies, they only do so because they are
forced to do so from their basic biology, as they lack reproductive
independence: worker ants, being sterile, need their ant-queen in order to
survive as a colony and a species, and individual ants cannot reproduce without
a queen and are thus forced to live in centralised societies. Humans, however,
do possess reproductive independence so they can give birth to offspring
without the need of a "queen", and in fact humans enjoy their maximum
level of Darwinian fitness only when they look after themselves and their
offspring, while finding innovative ways to use the societies they live in for
their own benefit.
