Time well wasted

Wish I’d do something constructive today.

My usual road to ‘hell’ paved with good intentions.

The last days have been quite dreadful except maybe for a little reading of Voltaire which is what I call constructive… fulfilling, positive use of one’s life.

No one on his death bed will wish to have crush more candies.

Did spend a decent ‘morning’ though sifting through 20 readings of scientists quotes on their belief or disbelief in a god, some of them Nobel prizes woop tee doodle doo.

And that of course created a few thoughts, maybe not new thoughts but more ‘productive’ thoughts than planning my strategy through the next level of Farm Heroes Saga.

Also a bit of ‘meditation’ on the irony of having museums of all kinds, one contradicting the other.
One museum to remind the Americans of their external crimes against the Japanese
one  museum to remind the Americans of their internal crimes against Japanese.

Talking about the RohWer RoHrers of a previous document and research here.

RohWer RoHrers
Takei was ‘interned” at RohWer  Japanese American Internment, Arkansas(Museum in McGehee)
Not to be confused with Rohrers Island OHIO, which is right next to the Wright-Patterson Air Force Museum
And now please if you would follow me to  the Wright-Patterson Air Force Museum (what’s 600 miles between friends now? ) where the B-29 Bomber Bockscar is held along with a replica of Fat Man full size: the bomb that flattened Nagasaki.
Kokura can thank their good star.
The original target for the bomb was the city of Kokura, but obscuring clouds necessitated changing course to the alternative target, Nagasaki. An estimated 40,000 people were killed outright by the bombing at Nagasaki, and a further 25,000 were injured.[5] Thousands more died later from related blast and burn injuries,

So I could go on finishing Voltaire
(3PM is always a critical time here) or write some more thoughts on this world and scientists and gods and religion and hope and delusion and madness and superstition and ignorance and sadness and soul searching and meaning and purpose and other Sisyphean tasks or some other nice words oh yeah like Panglossian approach to life which is so so ridiculous by the way and I think I might have covered Leibniz myself previously however  briefly and in my most ignorant manner.

I do not need to read all of Leibniz or all of Voltaire or all of anything to create and have thoughts and opinions which might be as bright as the brightest and as dumb As the dumbest.

In fact some of them brilliant minds wrote and said some pretty obvious stupid stupid things.

Billions and billions of monkeys and not one of them can write or think a decent thought, not one truth amongst them and by saying billions and billions I am also reminded that Sagan too had some pretty silly wants and needs and beliefs and wishful thinking.

So, I am no Einstein, no Camus, no Sagan, no one really

but my quest is as valid as any of theirs,
my questions matter to me much more that it mattered to them,
much more that they matter to me.

I like the good old bible saying

And he makes no acception of persons.

The good old idea that a perfect god would certainly not play favouritism and see right through hearts and minds and souls and lies and deceptions and delusions and men would not impress him one single bit.

Men are bound by chains of all sorts: money, sucking up to superiors, fear, greed, and delusions of all sorts when they are not bound, to begin with, with a very poor gene pool.

Nobel Prizes for instance don’t bother me none. I mean they give these things to just about anyone and are certainly not above biases and corruption.  Same applies to Pulitzer or any other frail human prizes given to frail humans.

Intelligence of the highest part does not seem to make you immune to emotional errors and infighting with other intelligence of the highest part which only tells you that one of them is BOUND to be totally wrong.

So what is left? Not much to lean on I tell ya,
no rock higher than I here.

My ageing belief is becoming that
there IS no god and
no afterlife
and all is the subject of absurd
and I mean absurd random and chance.
That man is no better than a monkey
or other animal if not much worst in fact.

I would have loved to be born on a planet with no predators at all and
I can only dream about that now
about my Elois without the Morlocks.
( I should read more H.G. Wells, obviously he had a great mind)

Altered States of Consciousness seem to be much preferred to an unaltered ones as depressive realism is no fun to live through.

I mean there would be absolutely nothing wrong for me at this point except maybe for one person or two to disappear in Darkness
to let my Vaisseau D’or sink in the darkness of artificial Light.

I want a permanent dreamland, a NICE dreamland where everything is perfect, innocent and sweet, where

“Everything is Beautiful and Nothing Hurts”.

Death does not bring that and
Life certainly doesn’t bring it either.

I am not the first to imagine the lion sleeping with the lamb.

No ants to be ever stepped on.
Spiders eat grass.

Right there one would need some sort of an ethereal body, a mind energy with the power to travel anywhere and anytime.

Of course it will never never happen and some would say it is useless and silly to waste one’s imagination towards such things but that’s what books have been written and read for.

I want to write my own book and live in it.

To others it would be madness but to the dreamer it would be bliss.
Add to this a millionaire’s death in your sleep of old age (since we MUST die) and what more could one want?

The only hick and drawback of course of all this is that it doesn’t create much of a real social life and a world would not function too long with seven billion LSD trips going all at the same time.

Even Alanis’s Utopia seems a bit odd at times as it never includes one bad apple

and that is the real problem with this world ain’t it?

The ONE bad apple.

We cannot afford the one bad apple as many religions have known and tried to instate by killing right away all “heretics”
people who made a choice,
a DIFFERENT choice.

Even Doctor Who’s world does not seem very nirvanaesque.

And the last thing I want in my Panglossian best of possible worlds is a Valhalla for sure.

Nirvana seems to bring the kind of peace I dream of, at least the word does.

Heaven has been really muddled up over the ages and seem now to represent more my idea of hell filled with self-righteous, holier than thou, foaming at the mouth hateful hypocrites with an angry god in charge somewhere who somehow is not angry anymore and doesn’t seem to care much that the greatest majority is STILL suffering and burning in hell for all ETERNITY which is a very very long time BTW.

So Nirvana it is then but not attained by submitting to some asshole with an agenda.

And I don’t see the necessity either of this hatred for sex drugs and rock and roll or the good old women wine and songs. That could be part of a certain paradise for sure can’t it?

O well so here is another productive hour and so be it, que sera sera.

Maybe Voltaire or some more wasted time being a Farm Hero Saga maniac like millions of others.  Not the kind of Saga I always dreamed of but it carries you through time which is short and it brings the night and dreamland a little closer.

If I can put more hours together like this maybe one day, one day, I will come up with the best dream glued together in what used to be paper but is now bytes, but either way it transports one in a dreamland of his own for a short time,

After all, man has always been a story teller apparently
which might be one of the best things that separates us from the animal
or maybe one of the worst too. Who knows?

Hope it helps you in the five minutes it will take you to read this. One hour of my time for your 5 minutes.  5 minutes multiplied by many people makes for a lot of good time now.

And this is why we blog or write I suppose.

What is YOUR perfect world now?

I have a dream, a dream where certain words and ideas have totally disappeared.

A French dream kind of, of REAL liberty, equality, fraternity, a dream in fact where even the word fraternity has changed to something asexual.

Mind you it is a very childish impossible dream that will never happen but what am I to do on my passage on this earth but to dream of a much better one?

For one thing someone said

“Dans une société fondée sur le pouvoir de l'argent, il ne peut y avoir de "liberté", réelle et véritable. “

“In a society based on the power of money there cannot be any real and true freedom”

I am still quite impressed by a very short part of French History, an incredible part where humongous changes were made, changes that did not last long alas. Speaking here of the French Revolution Calendar of course and its complex remodelling of society thinking with at its based the dechristianisation of France altogether.

Of course they were going to meet with extremely violent forces foaming at the mouth mostly over their loss of power really when all is said and done. But the IDEA, the music, of it all was blissful for a short time.  No more of this 7 and 12 business and all down to a decimal system in a decimal world.

The idea that each day was related to a complex vocabulary of Nature and that Reason was a god for a short moment leaves me with a sighing melancholia.

We have to confess that our million rituals, most of them somewhat barbaric, are nothing short of emotional mindless madness:  based on nothing but mass hysteria really.

Even a utopian island could not exist for very long I am afraid in this mass media society we have created: no more Robinsons & Fridays, no place to hide anymore.

Not even sure how it would function really, can’t think of a perfect world with man in it as man is so imperfect and such a failure.

Man can only dream of a perfect world, usually one to come, and SOMEWHERE ELSE, some OTHER time or dimension of time even.

A John Lennon imaginary world kind of, with no religion, no countries, nothing to die for, where people have no history really since happy people we all know have no history. No religion meaning no sacrifice, no ritual, no liturgy, no myth, and no delusions.
This is probably why it is much easier to write a dystopia, happiness is hard to dramatize as Fellowes says.

What would one read about now? Let’s face it, a Penelope is utterly boring and won’t appeal to Jane Austen or Oscar Wilde or Shakespeare.  You cannot write a movie about Penelope.
Imagine a world with no bullying, no hazing, no lynching, and no mob hysteria now? How rational! How BORING. Fuck no Jackass either! L

A world where everyone is rational, loves and respects each other, no one is cunning or deceitful or even deluded.  You can leave your door unlocked and sleep in the middle of the park at night.  Everyone is free to love whomever he/she wants, everybody minds their own business (Fuck Forbid) Papers have nothing to write really.  We really live in the pursuit of happiness happy with little and no one is lacking anything or starving. No one is filthy rich either of course.  Eloi WITHOUT the Morlocks.  Books and Music for free at every corner.  Epicurian moderate feasts with medicine to compensate. Everyone dies of old age peacefully in his/her sleep.

None of this need to be Stoic or resilient in anything.

Ah dreaming is so pleasant.

What else? A controlled population of course with everyone “allotted his lot”, A house, a bed and enough food for all.

No hatred, no gossip, no bogans or chavs or any of these low economical crime infested convict violent behaviour areas.  Epicurians with  social responsibilities.

Words like RESPECT and CONSIDERATION re-established as priorities number one in our school curriculum.  Free Schools that teach you to think for yourself.

No child is mistreated or even laughed at.

Of course no war and not a single need for any kind of weapon.

It would seem to me also that without going fanatical PETA here or even vegan it might be a necessity to avoid meat as blood spilling seems to only need to more blood spilling.

It seems to me that a free Commensal would be Epicurian enough and answer to all tastes.

Commensal is at least or was a vegetarian franchise where food is sold by the gram. One would be amazed at the expensive costs of something that is 90% heavy water now J

Trying to create a balanced ‘perfect’ world now also needs to ELIMINATE all form of activism/fanaticism of all kind.  Because let’s face it many are violent freaks.

One of them freak once claimed that we could lodge the whole population of the world in Texas and even though I doubted his claim at first it seems that he might have been right mathematically after all as the population  density would certainly not be as high many cities in the world.

So imagine now everyone with his little white picket fence house in the prairie, with his 2.2 children and a happy well-respected EQUAL wife, maybe not in Texas but somewhere with a minimum of 18 and a maximum of 25 all year round with rain only at night, sunny days and a nice breeze otherwise.  Maybe everyone producing enough food even for his family and a little extra. No need for lawyers.  Free doctors and specialists at all time. Life as priority number one at all cost.  Meaning being no poor or rich that one needing a billion dollar procedure to extend the length and quality of his life can have it no questions asked with no stressful waiting time.

We all know by now that I am in the IMPOSSIBLE conjecture realm and therefore economical conjectures are no object by this time since none of this will even happen. But I mean if we have the “means” now to spend trillions of dollars on armaments of all sorts, eliminating that “need’”, one can easily imagine good money being spent elsewhere on health and education where it SHOULD be in a perfect world right?

Can I even imagine respectful divorces in such a world because let’s face it more than too often it takes more than one or two trials to find the right person?

Divorces with no misogyny or misandry for that fact. Respect for the ex and what not even.

Paperwork in fact might be totally eliminated as one lives on PRINCIPLES.

Imagine waking up to this now Rip Van Winkle?  A breath of fresh air in an ethereal almost astral realm.

As I said it will never ever happen, if there was only one truth it would be this one.

A world of respect of sound and air and smells and pollution, filled with respect and consideration, filled with love with no hate and no violence at all, no need for violence.  A world where the lion really sleeps next to the lamb? Why is there a need for all these animals anyway in an Ha Olam Haba? Just curious.

No death now might be a blessing or a curse so I am not so sure on this subject.  Of course there would be some sort of inevitable inexorable forms of grief I am afraid, FEAR being included here in this expression.

So here is a start anyway, of course my perfect world is different than yours, and everyone’s perfect world is different from the neighbour.  This is intrinsically WHY there can never ever BE a perfect world in fact.

But it was nice to imagine, to put in thoughts and images anyway.

What is YOUR perfect world now?

On a final note it seems to reflect a world where your chaos is not imposed on my chaos really.  An elimination of stenches and noises in fact.

It would also resembles much of Alanis Morissette’s view of Utopia

We'd gather around
All in a room
Fasten our belts
Engage in dialogue
We'd all slow down
Rest without guilt
Not lie without fear
Disagree sans judgement

We would stay and respond and expand and include and allow and forgive and
enjoy and evolve and discern and inquire and accept and admit and divulge and open and reach out and speak up

We'd open our arms
We'd all jump in
We'd all coast down
Into safety nets

We would share and listen and support and welcome
Be propelled by passion, not invest in outcomes
We would breathe and be charmed and amused by difference
Be gentle and make room for every emotion

We'd provide forums
We'd all speak out
We'd all be heard
We'd all feel seen

We'd rise post-obstacle, more defined, more grateful
We would heal, be humbled, and be unstoppable
We'd hold close and let go and know when to do which
We'd release and disarm and stand up and feel safe

In a perfect world

Which will never ever happen but it is fun to dream.

If there was a universal truth it would be this that this perfect world will never even happen never even remotely come close to it despite what some philanthropic other dreamers think, wish, or expect.

But in my perfect world anyway as I have a feeling that there are 7 billion plus perfect worlds out there here it is in its best approximation.

Hmmm where to start? With today’s news?

The French Foreign Minister, Laurent Fabius, said today and I translate literally that he is
“hostile to all provocation in this hostile era”.  The context being another “offensive” caricature in the French paper called Charlie Hebdo.

Laurent Fabius, s'est déclaré depuis Le Caire, en Egypte, "hostile à toute provocation en cette période hostile".

Some journalism site goes as far as pixelating the drawing as if we were talking royal boobs here again.
Well! Well! Well! Two wrongs don’t make a right they say and also one of my favourite quotes from Walt Whitman:

“The dirtiest book of all is the expurgated book.”

In a perfect world there would be no need for provocation as there would not be petty religious or nationalistic affections in all the senses of the word to be attached to and be provoked by.

There would be no need for censure as well as all would be free to decide for themselves and all could use cold logical critical thinking as opposed to hot ignorant inflammable passions.

So how serendipitous as I am writing this and listening to my modern “mixed tape” of music titled CHESS and the song I had in mind just popped up, a great help in reflecting on a perfect world wonderfully well expressed by Alanis Morissette in her song Utopia of which I will paste and copy the lyrics for sure if anyone knows me at all.

My perfect world seems to have a lot of No’s if not too many Yesses as most things in my life I am much more aware of what I don’t want and what I don’t like than the opposite.

For the same reason I suppose I prefer what I call the negative golden rule as opposed to the golden rule.

Do Not Do Unto Others What You Don’t Want Them to Do Unto You

As opposed to

Do Unto Others What You Want Them to Do Unto You.

The latter being much more complex than my negative form.

So here it goes

No Religion

No Country (John Lennon was on to something here)

No Bullying

No War

No Hostility therefore

No need for Resilience

No poverty and by extension

No riches

No Greed

No Lies (here’s a big one) no deceit etc

Hmmmm what else?

That alone would be a great (though impossible already) start

No Censure is definitely a must too in this scenario

It gets complicated though when ones is trying to define Freedom.

My perfect world seems to be a lot like the Eloi WITHOUT the Morlocks.

Now people if you read only two books in your whole life forget the bible even though I like some of its attempts at ancient wisdom and I should attempt reading Shakespeare along with Dostoyevsky, Balzac, Dickens and what not but then again I could read over and over these 2 absolute must in anyone’s life curriculum:

  • George Orwell’s 1984 and
  • H.G. Wells Time Machine.

Even though here the Eloi are still far from a perfect example. I would like them with a little more intellect appetite but then again intellect appetite seems to be the perfect antidote to “perfection” or at least a great friend of ethnocentrism, schisms, and hostilities of all sorts. As Denys Arcand once said in The Decline of the American Empire: Intellectuals make lousy parents

Pierre: “Les intellectuels font rarement de très bons parents.”

So what now?

Does the human species need to be a dumb species to survive?

It would certainly seem that our great intellect has compounded the problems rather than solving them.

I mean chimps have much less complex problems than us.

The old mythical stories tell us apparently that this Promethean gift from the gods or the devils, this “Knowledge of Good and Evil” has created an irreversible downfall.

The human species will not stop short of flushing itself right off this planet while hoping for a better Ha Olam Haba : a hope I might say that might in fact precipitate that downfall in a form of self-fulfilling prophecy.

So in the meanwhile maybe if luck, fortune, destiny, fate and all their cousins have mercy on me I will leave this planet one day leaving behind me an excellent dystopia to remind us all of my passage for as long as this planet exist anyway and there is someone to read old fables.

Because paradoxically enough in this world the best way to try to describe a utopia is by reverse psychology in a good dystopia showing us all where the future could lead or has lead us.

We'd gather around
All in a room
Fasten our belts
Engage in dialogue
We'd all slow down
Rest without guilt
Not lie without fear
Disagree sans judgement

We would stay and respond and expand and include and allow and forgive and
